TRUE LOVE

February 29th 1997 was the worst day for a 30-years-old man who lived in Manhattan. His name was Clark. He had planned the schedule of his wedding party. When everyone was already there, the only one who hadn't been at the party was Clark's bride, Flo. They thought Flo was preparing for the costume or everything. After they had been waiting for 3 hours, Clark got a message which said "Clark, you are the nicest man I've ever met. You've given everything I want. But I don't think we can continue this relationship. You're too good for me. I've married a man, sorry I can't explain this more. I need to live a new life without you. Goodbye, I wish you could get a better woman than me."

The last message from Flo made Clark disappointed. He was terribly mad at everything and everyone. "Bullshit! Is there anything wrong with me? Is it because that man's much richer than me? Why does every woman like a rich man so much? Why are they crazy of money? I hate my life! I don't deserve anything I want! I'd better die!!," Clark shouted and cried. He broke everything around him. Everyone had tried some effort to stop him but they totally failed.

Actually, Clark was very rich. Because he was the head of the biggest company in the U.S.A. His company produced the latest version of computer. That's why everyone admired him. Maybe the secret man who was chosen by Flo had so many companies in the world. It was just an estimation. The truth was still unknown.

Clark's mother (Mrs. Anderson) and brothers (Josh & John) found out the way to heal him from his depression disease. The only way to heal him was carrying him to a psychiatrist. They hoped it would work.

"Welcome to my house. Is there anything I can help?," Mr. Tom said. "Thank you. Sorry for interrupting. I really need your help. My son, Clark, is being depressed because of being left by his ex bride. I'm afraid he will become insane. I've been trying so many ways to heal him but they never worked. Can you see him in the car over there? He's just quiet and acting abnormally," Mrs. Anderson explained and cried. "Well, do you know The Edelweiss Hospital? I'm the owner of that hospital. He's able to stay there. But he must stay for 2 years in order to be normal perfectly. Do you mind? Be calm, you'll be free for the payment. I've ever become depressed before, same like Clark". John, Josh, and Mrs. Anderson were very thankful to this psychiatrist.

Clark didn't comment anything when he arrived at the hospital. He just followed his mother and brothers. They walked into the room where there were many patients who were like Clark. Without talking to Clark, they just let him in the room and got out of the hospital. Even though Clark didn't talk to them, he said something quietly. "Mom," he said. Of course Mrs. Anderson didn't hear that because he didn't say it loudly. Little by little, he started to understand about life. The psychiatrist and the nurse always gave him spirit to rise, to restart a new life, and to find a true love.

After 2 years being treated and healed, the psychiatrist allowed Clark to leave the hospital. Clark has finally been healthy like he used to be. Then he went home and was welcomed by his family happily. "I can't believe I'm already home now. I hope it won't happen again in my life", Clark said it proudly. Mrs. Anderson had cooked Clark's favourite foods, such as spaghetti, salty squid, etc. Well, it seemed Clark would be fat like John and Josh. In the dining room, Clark also shared his experience in the hospital.

Clark restarted his career from the beginning until 8 years became rich and moved to Washington D.C with his family. He worked diligently and bought everything for them. But for him, he hadn't got something precious to complete his life. "Josh, will you be grateful for having everything you want?" Clark asked. "If I were you, I would be very thankful to God. I've got big houses, new cars, and a lot of money. I wish I could have much success like you", Josh admitted. "I've just thought there's something left in my life. And I don't know what it is", Clark added. "A love, a true love. That's what you think about. It's been 10 years you didn't find any girlfriend since that tragedy. You're a 40-years-old man, Clark. It's time for you to have your own family. You should've had a wife and children!". Clark thought a while, then said "You've never felt this. It's complicated for me. You've never been betrayed by the person whom you love. The tragedy that happened long time ago had hurt me so much. I'm afraid it'll happen again. And you know what, a true love will come itself. So, I didn't need to find it out. Did you get it?". Josh said nothing and Clark just left him. Clark's past had concerned Josh. He sincerely wanted to help Clark but the way he helped didn't work at all. It just made Clark furious.

In the next day, Clark and his mother went shopping. They looked for some new clothes. "Mom, I gotta go to the restroom. Be right back," Clark told Mrs. Anderson. "Okay, I'll be waiting here". Then Clark's mother continued looking for dresses. It took 5 minutes for Clark in the restroom. "I think my hair's having dandruff, well I ought to go to the barbershop". Clark came to his mom and he told her "Mom, I need to go to the barbershop. Are you gonna follow me?", Clark's mom did agree with him.

After arriving at the barbershop, Mrs. Anderson sat on the sofa while Clark was waiting for the woman who was gonna clean his hair. "Excuse me, Sir. I'm going to clean your hair. Please place this small towel under your neck," said Clara. "How beautiful she is!", said Clark in his heart. The innocence of her face made him fall in love. She looked pretty enough, but a bit innocent. Clark thought he could make a long conversation with her easily. "Are you also gonna cut my hair?" asked Clark. "Of course," Clara made him sure. Clark optimized himself to know her more. So, when she was cutting his hair, they talked to each other.

Before he went home, he asked Clara "Do you mind to give me your phone number?". Clara gave it with pleasure. Clark was so thankful to her and he seemed like 'flying' in the 7th sky. He told all his family. They were pleased with him. But...there was one thing that confused him. "Mom, this girl is actually poor. She was from Manhattan like us. Her house in Manhattan looks like a shack. She works here with her sister to feed her family because her father had passed away. She only has a sister. So, her mother is just alone in Manhattan," explained Clark. Mrs. Anderson just made him sure that Clara was the only love for him.

2 years they've been together, this might be the exact time for Clark to marry Clara. When they were at the park on Saturday at 11 p.m, Clark gave her a ring and said "Will you marry me, Clara?". It was romantic because they stood in front of a fountain. Clara accepted his request and then the wedding began on Monday. Meanwhile, there was a woman came to Clark's wedding and made the condition become "cold". Yes, she was Flo.

"Clark, nice to meet you again. My wish has just come true, you've got a true love to complete your dream". Clark got surprised and he thought it was the most horrible surprise he has ever got. "What the hell are you doing here? Are you gonna ruin my wedding? It's all enough for me! After 12 years you disappeared, now you wanna ruin my life again? Aren't you satisfied yet huh? Get the hell outta here!" Clark shouted and pushed her away. Flo fell down and cried, and she also apologized. But her apology wasn't accepted by Clark. Without thinking much, Clara got her up and asked her "Who are you? What's your business with Clark?". "I was her ex bride and I was the one who left him and made him depressed. I regret it and I just wanna congratulate you both. I wanna apologize too. But it's too late," Flo said and cried. "Your apology has been accepted and from now on, don't ever come back to Clark's life. Promise?", Clara requested. Flo agreed and she left the wedding. People who saw it were quietly surprised because they didn't believe Clark's ever had an 'evil ex bride' like Flo. Clara approached Clark and told him she had made sure Flo wouldn't come back. Flo was gone and the situation at the wedding party got better.

5 years later, Clark bought a new big house for his mother-in-law in Manhattan. He also lived happily in Washington D.C with his wife and his little 4-years-old boy. One day, Clark and Clara were dating at the park where he requested to marry her. They sat on the bench and said "A TRUE LOVE WILL COME ITSELF" with smiley faces.
